About Larkhill Eventing

Larkhill Eventing is a not for profit organisation delivering access to the sport of Eventing in the unique environment of Salisbury Plain. It provides training and competitive eventing for military and civilian riding communities in unafilliated and BE affiliated sport. It shares its unique setting with the Larkhill Racecourse, to provide a major community sporting venue, hosting point to points and one day events.

Larkhill has been synonymous with artillery training since 1897 and is now very much at the heart of today’s Royal Regiment of Artillery. There has been organised equestrian sport at this location since 1947. Situated in a natural amphitheatre on traditional chalk downland, it provides springy turf that rarely cancels due to poor weather.

Salisbury Plain is a military training and live firing range. Please:

  • Only use signed tracks
  • Do not touch any suspicious objects
  • Watch out for overgrown trenches and craters
  • Give way to military training and range staff

Our Team

Our core team is set out below, but we couldn’t function without the help of a major army of volunteers that know all about Larkhill Eventing and work tirelessly to set up the events, fence judge, dressage steward, scorers, starters – the list goes on – and our thanks go to you.
